#Working [Mom/Dad] Moment- Library Lion!

Another messy and cool art activity...
Materials: YouTube, shaving foam, shallow baking dish, food colouring, small containers, dropper or a paint brush, a stick (like a chop stick or end of a paint brush), a piece of cardboard and cardstock (or water colour paper or cut up poster board).
Main Learning Outcomes: Developing fine motor skills, creativity and early literacy skills.
Steps:
(1) First, cuddle up together with your child to read the story, “Library Lion” by Michelle Knudsen. If you don’t have the book at home, you can listen to it by following this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A668AzrLzHk
(2) We are going to create marbled paper. First, spray a layer of shaving foam to cover the bottom of your baking dish. Then, add water and a few drops of food colouring to your containers in whatever colours you desire. Use a dropper or a paint brush to add drops of the food colouring mixture on top of the shaving cream. Next, use a stick (a chopstick or the end of a paint brush) to swirl the paint around for a marbled effect. Press a piece of card stock into the paint covered shaving foam. Lift up the card stock and then use a piece of cardboard to scrape off the shaving cream. This reveals your beautiful new marbled paper! You’ll get a couple of good marbled papers from the paint, then you can add more drops of food colouring and swirl it again.

Tips: Maybe you can use this paper to make a nice Mother’s Day card for Grandma!!!!
