#Working [Mom/Dad] Moment- Love You Forever!

Since you’re not with us at the daycare to make a cute Mother’s Day craft, it looks like we have to make one at home!
Materials: YouTube, Construction paper, paint, paintbrushes, scissors, glue and a printer (optional).
Main Learning Outcomes: Developing fine motor skills, creativity and early literacy skills.
Steps:
(1) First, cuddle up with your child to read the heartwarming classic story, “Love You Forever” by Robert Munch. If you don’t have the book at home, you can listen to it by following this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ES-fp2fdzk
(2) For this Mother’s Day craft, start by painting your child’s hand green and placing the handprint in the middle of your construction paper (and then wash the hand). Next put a dab of glue in whatever colours you wish on a plate or newspaper. Then have your child dip their thumb in a colour and press it on the fingertips of the handprint to make the centre of the flower. Then with another colour, repeat that step with their fingertips to make the petals around the centre of the flower. Allow to dry. Next, either type out the poem, print it out, and then draw and cut out a flowerpot shape around it. Or with older children, they can cut out a flowerpot shape and print the poem by hand themselves. Once you are done, glue it to the bottom of the handprint and you’re done!

Tips: The more the child does themselves on this one, the more it is treasured by mom!
Poem:
I’ve made some Mother’s Day flowers,
With my fingers and my thumb,
So you’ll always have these memories,
For all the years to come!
