#Working [Mom/Dad] Moment- Spring Flowers!

Is it Spring yet? Let’s make it look like Spring…
Materials: YouTube, paper (can be origami or regular paper cut into squares), scissors, stapler, tape (preferred double sided, but regular scotch tape works too) and crayons, markers or pencil crayons (optional).
Main Learning Outcomes: Developing fine motor skills, creativity and early literacy.
Steps:
(1) First, sit together with your child to read the story, “The Chrysanthemum”, by Kevin Henkes. If you don’t have the book at home, you can listen to it by following this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xffkRIXpnwk
(2) For this activity, grab your supplies and take a peek at the instructions and pictures on this website: http://development.urbinfo.com/easy-diy-kids-accordion-paper-flowers/ .
Tips: To get the toddlers more involved, I would suggest starting with the paper and encouraging your toddler to take crayons or markers and create colours all over the paper before folding it. If your older children liked this, or found it easy, I encourage them to try some other fun designs at these websites:
